No. Unlike mobile apps that log into your account from strange server IP addresses, this extension runs directly inside your own browser using your existing browser session and standard Instagram web endpoints, with built-in rate-limiting delays and backoff timers.
Does the extension require my password?
Never. The extension does not have password fields, never prompts for login credentials, and cannot read your passwords. It relies solely on your authenticated browser cookies on instagram.com.
Where is my follower data stored?
All data is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. Nothing is transmitted to external servers, cloud databases, or third-party analytics services.
How does it detect unfollowers if this is my first scan?
On your first scan, the extension saves an initial snapshot of all your followers and following. From your second scan onward, it computes the exact diff between snapshots to identify who unfollowed you, who followed you, and who doesn't follow back.
