Who Unfollowed You for Instagram™ (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is an independent browser extension developed to provide user-controlled follower analytics. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right. This Privacy Policy details our strict commitment to zero remote data harvesting and 100% local operation.

2. Data Collection and Transmission

The extension is engineered with an offline-first architecture:

  • Zero Remote Servers: We do not operate external web servers, cloud databases, or remote endpoints for this extension. No data ever leaves your personal web browser.
  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, transmit, rent, or sell your account credentials, browsing history, IP address, user IDs, or relationship lists to any third party.
  • No Analytics or Trackers: The extension contains zero tracking pixels, telemetry SDKs, Google Analytics, or third-party advertising scripts. All assets and fonts are bundled locally within the installation package.

3. How Data is Handled and Stored

All operations are executed within your local browser context:

  • Local Browser Storage: Follower snapshots, relationship diffs, and scan timestamps are stored exclusively on your device using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.local API.
  • Authentication Safety: The extension does not collect, prompt for, or store your Instagram password. It accesses public and user-permitted relationship data through your existing, active session cookies on instagram.com.
  • User Control & Deletion: You have full control over your stored data. You can delete tracked user data at any time via the Dashboard (“Delete Data” button), or completely erase all stored data by uninstalling the extension from your browser.

4. Permissions Explanation

In accordance with the Chrome Web Store Minimum Permissions Policy, the extension requests only permissions necessary for its core functionality:

  • storage & unlimitedStorage: Required to persist snapshot histories locally on your computer so you can compare changes between scans over time.
  • Host Permissions (https://*.instagram.com/*): Required to fetch your follower and following lists using standard web requests within your authenticated browser session.
